The Community Destination for All Who Love Music

We remain mindful and proud of our traditions as M.A.M. continues to evolve.  These traditions have enabled us to be a vibrant organization for over four decades.  Our continuing success is demonstrated by our ability to be:

  • The musical home for adults, many of whom remain integral members of an ensemble for many years, even decades

  • A musical home for youth that fosters personal growth, love of music and recognition of the power of community

Musical Enrichment

We will:

  • Provide high-quality opportunities for musical growth for talented musicians and staff

  • Offer our audiences engaging concerts of varied musical styles

  • Focus on the development of young musicians and audiences who will carry our love of music into the future

Our mission is based on our belief in the power of music to build community. To accomplish this, we strive to:

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive musical home for musicians of all ages, skill levels and financial means.

  • Draw audiences to our concerts by presenting entertaining programs free of charge throughout the western suburbs

  • Partner with the City of Minnetonka to develop programs that enhance and supplement their activities

Our members, staff and volunteers are critical in creating quality concert experiences and a vibrant musical organization. To be successful, we recognize the need to:

  • Value each individual’s contributions, input and ideas

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect

  • Work collaboratively with all members in the organization and the greater community

While we place tremendous value on musical excellence and challenge, we never want to take ourselves too seriously.  To this end, we maintain:

  • A welcoming, low-key environment at rehearsals where musicians are encouraged to learn and increase their proficiency, but never discouraged when they make mistakes

  • A casual, informal atmosphere at all concerts.  We steadfastly resist the notion that classical music is “stuffy”

  • A spirit of teamwork and camaraderie among staff and volunteers as they complete tasks that make MAM thrive

To provide musical opportunities which expand the performer’s creative, artistic and recreational goals and enrich the lives of audiences in the greater metropolitan area.

To be the community destination for all who love music.
