About the Choral Reflections of Minnetonka
Choral Reflections of Minnetonka is an auditioned adult ensemble performing a varied and eclectic repertoire. They sing popular arrangements, show tunes, madrigals, and a wide selection of familiar and interesting Christmas carols and songs.
This ensemble has performed at Murphy’s Landing, Gaviidae Commons, The Carlson Center, The Mall of America, Burwell House, Eden Prairie Mall, Ridgedale Mall, Knollwood Mall, Barnes and Noble, Minnetonka City Open House and Summer Fest, Wayzata Yacht Club, Minneapolis Woman’s Club, Northland Inn, Southdale Mall, Emma Krumbee’s, St. Croix Heritage Festivals, Methodist Hospital, and many nursing homes and private parties. In the past they have also performed overseas in Norway, Sweden, Italy, and Switzerland.
This ensemble rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Congregational Church of Excelsior, 471 Third St, Excelsior. Auditions are held in August/September and in January. For additional information about this ensemble, go to: www.choralreflections.org
About the Director
David Halligan is a native of New York State and received his B.A. Music Education from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Upon graduating, he was chosen to direct and teach music in Oxford, Kansas. He directed seven different bands and choirs achieving top ratings at music festivals before moving into the business sector as a new career. David has always been involved with directing and performing civic organizations in communities across the nation as he progressed in the business world. He has directed many church choirs as well as directed and performed in the Marshall Men’s Choir of Marshall, MN, the Mendelssohn Club of Schenectady, NY, the Festival Singers of Topeka, KS and our very own Minnetonka Symphony Choir. David also directs the Plymouth Rockers, a choir for seniors.
David believes that great performances come with a lot of hard work, dedication and a whole lot of fun. The rewards are simply “priceless”.
