Young Artist Competition

For over three decades, the Music Association of Minnetonka has sponsored an annual scholarship competition for high school musicians in the greater Twin Cities area. The competition selects musicians whose artistic qualities, potential, and desire compel them to continue the study of music. Our goal is to encourage young musicians to continue the tradition of music performance. A list of winners from previous years may be found here.
The 2017 competition date and registration deadline will be announced in the spring of 2017.
First Place Winner Concert Performances: February, 2018
Applicants must be a high school junior or senior and live or study in the greater Twin Cities area.
Participants in greater Twin cities music organizations also will be accepted.
The previous Minnetonka Young Artist Competition first-place winner is not eligible.
The following awards will be presented at the February concerts of the Minnetonka Symphony Orchestra.

Complete Competition Information and Requirements
Applicants must submit a completed entry form and a non-refundable $25 application fee* to the Music Association of Minnetonka office.
Checks should be made payable to the Music Association of Minnetonka.
Applications must include signatures of a parent or guardian and current music teacher.
Failure to meet competition requirements will result in disqualification.
*If this fee is a barrier to participation, a scholarship may be available. Contact the M.A.M. Office.
