ANNOUNCING THE 2022-23 MUSIC ASSOCIATION OF MINNETONKA YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAM 

The Music Association of Minnetonka (MAM) Young Artist Program (YAP) promotes the artistic development of young musicians by providing accomplished high school students the opportunity to perform as a soloist in concert with a high-quality community symphony orchestra, as well as awarding selected students a monetary prize to support their further studies.

The 2022-23 MAM Young Artist Program auditions will be heard by ONLINE VIDEO SUBMISSION ONLY.  The deadline is November 27, 2022.

The MAM Young Artist Program is open to high school students living in the greater Twin Cities area enrolled in the 2022-23 school year performing on any orchestral instrument as well as piano or classical voice. 

The Young Artist Concert is planned for the afternoon of March 5, 2023 in Eden Prairie Minnesota.

2023 Competition Results 


The Minnetonka Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce the winners of our 2023 Young Artist Competition. Students from throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota auditioned via video. Our panel reviewed the entries and has named the following winners. The Grand Prize and First Runner-Up winners will perform with the MSO at our concert on March 5, 2023. Please join us in congratulating all who entered, and the winners!


Grand Prize - Christian Garner - $500 and performance with MSO - Trumpet, 8th grader Minnetonka Middle School West, student of Robert Dorer


1st runner up - Vladimir Tsiper - $300 and performance with MSO - Violin, Sophomore at the Breck School, student of Lucinda Marvin


2nd runner up - Nick Meagher - $200 - Flute, senior at North High School, student of Julie Johnson
